I have absolutely no backfire. I'm running a
baffle-free HD pipe, POD foam air filter, white
spacer removed, and a 160 main jet. BTW I own
a 2001 savage. I have the mixture screw turned out
about 3 or 4 turns. And she idles nice and low.
Pulls hard all the way to redline with no flat
spots, and likes to run comfortably between 65
and 70 mph though I've taken her to 85 mph and
still pulling. I also like the rear shock adjust-
ed as tight as possible. Hope this helps.
All this cost me $10 HD pipe, $15 air filter $15
breather tube filter, $3.00 main jet, installation
free(I did it).
